Project 30

Home Missionaries Vance and Daphne Linholm carry a large Mission in their hearts. They desire to provide the love of Christ through an academic and healing experience for children who have suffered life-changing trauma. Sparrow Academy was birthed to fill a void in our education system: A Christ-focused School with a small child-to-teacher ratio that provides trauma-informed care for children who cannot function in the typical school setting, including special education programs. Currently, 50 students who have experienced school failure or expulsion meet in small classroom settings designed to be non-threatening and comfortable. Trauma-informed exercises and practices and sharing the love of Christ help keep the students focused on what counts - personal and educational success. For many students, this is the first time they will experience this success. Many of these students have experienced horrific childhood trauma. Parents, including foster and adoptive, bring their children to missionaries Vance and Daphne at Sparrow Academy, hoping that someone will understand and care for their child. Many of these children are banned from sports, organized children's events, and other typical childhood activities because of their behavior caused by the trauma they have experienced. For many, Sparrow is their only option.

Carry The Mission sees value in this mission, but Vance and Daphne have limited space and funds. They are in need of $30,000 to expand their classroom space in order to accept new children.
